Rev up your engines and get ready to race.

The Pack 6 Cranston Pinewood Derby is almost here.

 

Saturday, March 6th- The Big Race Day

Pinewood Derby Race Day

St. David’s Church in the Meeting Hall

 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM Registration

ALL CARS must be checked in during this time.
    Bring the number stickers in your Pinewood Derby Car kit.
    You will be assigned a number at check in.

 Each car must meet the requirements as described in the Official NETOP Pinewood Derby Rules revised edition February 2009. The car weight shall not exceed 5 ounces. Only cars with official BSA wheels and axels will be allowed to race. No pre-made or purchased cars will be allowed to race. The complete set of rules can be found listed under Recent Articles on the left hand side of the home page. Please pay particular attention to the height, weight and width restrictions. 

 Scouts should work on their cars with their adult partner or by themselves.

A Full Concession Stand with Drinks, Hot Dogs, Pizza

and Various Snacks will be Available for Sale from 11 AM Until 1:30 PM

RACES will Begin at 11:30AM

Each Den will have its own Den Race the top three cars from each den will compete in the overall Pack Race.

Awards Ceremony

Trophies will be awarded immediately following the Pack Race. In addition to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies special trophies will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Most Patriotic Car
  • Best BSA 100th Birthday Spirited Car
  • Car Most Likely Made by the Scout
  • Most Fuel Efficient Car
  • Most Colorful Car
  • Judge’s Choice
  • Scout’s Choice (Each Scout will have a chance to cast a vote for their favorite car)

 Saturday, March 27th The NETOP District Race will be held. Our Pack can send only Five Cars. The cars that will go will be the 1st place winner from each den and the fastest second place den car.

                          Junior Duck Stamp Entries must be submitted to den leaders tonight


Saturday 3/6 Pine Wood Derby

                           We can not meet at St. David’s this night due to the Churches need for the building.
